Countryside Landscape and Garden Center, Inc. was established in April 1993 by John Van Soest and family. John has a four-year degree from the University of Illinois in Landscape Architecture and later became an Indiana Licensed Landscape Architect, after passing a seven-part exam at state boards.

John's love for landscaping comes only second to his family and church. He has three red-headed little boys anxious to grow up to be "just like dad".

The natural talent John has is evident in his many projects he has done. He has designed and installed landscapes from naturalized perennial beds to highly detailed, formal, themed gardens. He has done designs for residential and commercial.

Countryside began with John, his father Bill, and his wife Starla. It has grown to a great core group of employees. Each and everyone is there because they love what they do!!
